On Day 5 of Djarum Indonesia Open 2013, the Chinese campaigner Du Pengyu lost to a lower ranked shuttler Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka and bid adieu in the quarter-finals on Friday in 55 minutes in local badminton arena of Jakarta and compiled the final figures of 21-15, 15-21 and 21-9.
China’s prime Women’s Doubles team of Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei continue their victory run and marched into semi-final round. The quarter-final battle continued for 59 minutes against the Japanese duo Misaki Matsutomo-Ayaka Takahashi and produced the final result of 21-16, 15-21 and 21-19.
On the other hand, Women’s Doubles team Ma Jin and Tang Jinhua of China remained unbeatable in the round of eight and earned the right to contest in the semi-finals of the tournament. They played against the native shuttlers Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth and Rizki Amelia Pradipta, where a huge crowd assembled to support the Indonesian duo but it was sheer disappointment for them in this quarter-final match. The Chinese campaigners remained victorious in 28-minute encounter and wrapped the game in straight sets with of 21-15 and 21-10.
