On the opening day of the Singapore Open 2013, Malaysia’s young and full of talent player Zulfadli Zulkiffli cleared the qualifying round and gave some solid reason to smile to his supporters by moving into main round of the tournament. He was playing against Nan Wei of Hong Kong and this 45-minute Men’s Singles tussle was wrapped with a splendid straight-set victory with 21-18 and 21-15 margin.
The veteran Malaysian campaigner Muhammad Hafiz Hashim failed to clear the first hurdle and crashed out of the Men’s Singles qualifying round on Tuesday against a young and inexperienced Indian shuttler Sai Praneeth B. Hashim remained unable to employ his brilliance in the game and received a straight-set defeat in just 26-minute tussle and the Indian campaigner sealed the match with a favourable result of 21-13 and 21-15.
Women’s Singles expert Arundhati Pantawane of India stretched her winning streak in the qualifying round against hermnative shuttler Xiaoyu Liang for a 30 minutes meeting before ending with final figures of 21-14 and 21-16.
