South Africa and Sri Lanka will look to settle and recover from recent setbacks in one-day cricket when they face off in a five-match series starting in Colombo on Saturday.
Sri Lanka are the clear favorites in this series. Upul Tharanga’s has proved that if you score enough runs from an injury opportunity you will stay in the side and he is going to want to consolidate the Tri-series with another great series. The likely Sri Lankan squad will include: 1 Upul Tharanga, 2 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 3 Kumar Sangakkara (wk), 4 Mahela Jayawardene, 5 Dinesh Chandimal, 6 Lahiru Thirimanne, 7 Angelo Perera/Thisara Perera, 8 Rangana Herath, 9 Shaminda Eranga, 10 Lasith Malinga, 11 Suranga Lakmal/ Ajantha Mendis.
The noteworthy thing is that only two of the fifteen players in the South African squad have played an ODI match in Sri Lanka which includes Robin Peterson and JP Duminy. The lack of experience in Sri Lankan conditions will work against them and they will need JP Duminy to perform well in this series after failure in Champions Trophy.
