After winning the test series with 1-0, Sri Lanka is set to face Bangladesh in the shortest format of cricket with the opening T20 match at Chittagong on Wednesday.
Bangladesh couldn’t have started the tour any worse than they did with the drubbing in Dhaka but performed much better in the 2nd Test to force the draw. However, Bangladesh used to perform better in the shorter formats and a few players will cause a few problems for Sri Lanka. Shakib Al Hasan is one of the best all-rounders in the world and his ability to pose danger in this format is so obvious as he scores quickly during batting and is hard to hit when he is bowling. The likely Bangladeshi squad will include: 1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Shamsur Rahman, 3 Shakib Al Hasan 4 Mominul Haque, 5 Mithun Ali (wk), 6 Nasir Hossain, 7 Mahmudullah/Sabbir Rahman, 8 Farhad Reza, 9 Sohag Gazi, 10 Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), 11 Arafat Sunny.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka will not let the hosts win the T20 series in order to retain their no. 1 spot in this format. Kumar Sangakkara performed incredibly in Test series where he was leading runs scorer for the series but he is just as good in the shorter formats as well. The probable Sri Lankan lineup will include: 1 Kusal Perera, 2 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 3 Mahela Jayawardene, 4 Kumar Sangakkara, 5 Dinesh Chandimal (capt & wk), 6 Angelo Mathews, 7 Seekuge Prasanna/Angelo Perera, 8 Thisara Perera, 9 Nuwan Kulasekara, 10 Sachitra Senanayake, 11 Lasith Malinga.
