In the qualifying round, Zimbabwe and Ireland will face each other in the group B qualifying match at Sylhet on Monday.

In the qualifying round, the top team from each group will qualify for the main round. A real fight is expected to happen between the two teams from group B. Zimbabwe had taken a good start in the warm up matches. Although they were defeated in a last over thriller against Hong Kong which was an upset itself, but in the very next match they defeated an energetic side Afghanistan by a margin of 7 wickets in the last over. The likely Zimbabwean line-up will include: BRM Taylor (Capt + WK), TL Chatara, E Chigumbura, T Kamungozi, T Maruma, H Masakadza, SW Masakadza, N Mushangwe, T Panyangara, V Sibanda, Sikandar Raza, P Utseya, BV Vitori, MN Waller, SC Williams.

On the other hand, Ireland during their recent visit to T20 defending champions, made an upset against West Indies in West Indies. In the most recent played warm up matches Ireland like Zimbabwe lost one game and were victorious in the other one. Ireland was unexpectedly defeated by Hong Kong in Sharjah but they made their comeback in the warm up match against Hong Kong that they decisively won by 7 wickets. In the very next game at Fatullah, Ireland was defeated by Bangladesh by margin of 44 runs. They must be under immense pressure to entering the qualifying round after an immediate defeat.
