Australia women and West Indies women will face each other in the first semi-final of the World T20 2014 at Dhaka on Thursday.

Australia had a losing start to their title defence against New Zealand before they grabbed three wins on the bounce to finish top of their group – but only on net run-rate ahead of the rapidly improving South Africa, who had Australia 56 for 4 when they met. The title holders of 2013 World Cup had beaten the same opponents in the semi-final stage with 28 runs on their way to securing the trophy. The likely Australia women line-up will include: AJ Blackwell, NE Bolton, JE Cameron, SJ Coyte, RM Farrell, HL Ferling, AJ Healy†, JL Hunter, JL Jonassen, DM Kimmince, MM Lanning*, BL Mooney, EA Osborne, EA Perry, EJ Villani.

On the other hand, West Indies had a totally opposite start of their campaign of the tournament as they have won their first three matches to ensure themselves a spot in the knockout stage before suffering a loss against India, which meant they conceded top spot in the group, but a wake-up call is not always a bad thing before the business end of a tournament. The probable West Indies squad will include: MR Aguilleira, SA Campbelle, SF Daley, DJS Dottin, CA Henry, SACA King, Kycia A Knight*, Kyshona A Knight, NY McLean, A Mohammed, SL Munroe, SL Quintyne, SC Selman, TD Smartt, SR Taylor†.
