South Africa will begin their tour of Sri Lanka from ODI series with the opening ODI match to be played at R. Premadas Stadium, Colombo on Sunday.
Winning the opening game is vital for both the sides as the series comprised of only three ODI games. Sri Lanka will enter the series s favourites because when South Africa were in Sri Lanka last time they were completely outplayed. The probable Sri Lankan squad will include: 1 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 2 Kusal Perera, 3 Kumar Sangakkara (wk), 4 Mahela Jayawardene 5 Lahiru Thirimanne, 6 Angelo Mathews (capt), 7 Thisara Perera, 8 Nuwan Kulasekara, 9 Sachithra Senanayake, 10 Ajantha Mendis, 11 Lasith Malinga.
On the other hands, South Africa haven’t played much cricket recently and may be a bit rusty in comparison to Sri Lanka who have been playing a few matches in England. Imran Tahir can play a significant role in Sri Lanka as the spinner but he has been in good limited overs form after impressing in the IPL earlier in the year.
