On Day 2 of the fourth test match, rain and Bhuvneshwar Kumar unitedly helped India to stop England from taking a clear advantage on Friday, as the hosts took only 85 runs lead with four wickets in hand by the close of day.
The visitors struck thrice on the second morning but Joe Root (48*) and Jos Buttler (22*) added 67 runs to lead England to 237 for 6, after which rain and the resultant wet outfield washed out almost half of the day’s play.
India, after getting thrashed to mere 152 on Thursday, needed early wickets on the second morning; and Bhuvneshwar provided that by removing night-watchman Chris Jordan for 13 and danger man Ian Bell for 58 after the veteran England batsman came to change the situation in their team’s favour.
