On Day 2 of the only test match, Faf du Plessis and Dean Elgar scored half-centuries on Sunday as top-ranked South Africa slowly chased down Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club.
South Africa had to work hard against the lowly-ranked Zimbabweans on a dry, slow pitch where batsmen found it hard to score freely through the opening two days.
Du Plessis remained unbeaten at 69 and opener Elgar earlier hit 61 to take South Africa to 201 for 4 by the close of second day, trailing the hosts with 55 runs who made 256 runs in their 1st innings.
