After winning the two opening games, Sri Lanka will look to continue dominating England as they face each other in the third ODI match at Hambantota on Wednesday.
Sri Lanka have had a superb beginning of the tour. Sri Lanka lead the series 2-0 and have the opportunity to continue their winning pace in Hambantota with still four matches remaining. The Sri Lankan playing line-up includes: 1 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 2 Kusal Perera, 3 Kumar Sangakkara (wkt), 4 Thilina Kandamby, 5 Angelo Mathews (capt), 6 Lahiru Thirimanne, 7 Jeevan Mendis, 8 Thisara Perera, 9 Dhammika Prasad, 10 Rangana Herath, 11 Shaminda Eranga.
On the other hands, England are just about in a crisis as they continue their woeful form in the 50 over format. Alistair Cook continues to be at the centre of criticism, now from former team mate Kevin Pietersen who believes Cook is not good enough to play in the ODIs and should bring in Alex Hales. Cook has been dismissed twice in the series by part-timer Tillakaratne Dilshan early in his innings and now he must turn things around and get his team back into the series with a big score. England have struggled with batting and bowling with the only major contribution coming from an English player being Ali’s hundred in vain during the 1st ODI.
