Toronto FC finished their preseason on Saturday night after a 2-2 draw with D.C. United in a game that Toronto finished with ten men.

D.C. United opened the scoring in the 14th minute after Toronto turned the ball over in the middle of the pitch and Charlie Davies beat goalkeeper Stefan Frei to make it 1-0. Toronto captain Dwayne De Rosario tied the game up just five minutes later by converting his penalty to make it 1-1. Nine minutes later Maicon Santos put Toronto ahead 2-1 after out running defender Perry Kitchen and beating goalkeeper Pat Onstad with a low shot that found the bottom corner. D.C. responded in the 61st minute when Joseph Ngwenya finished Santino Quaranta’s cross to tie the game at 2-2 and that would be the final.

"I’m proud with our result because we played a man down for the whole second half. D.C. have a good team and it was a tough match," said Toronto FC Head Coach and Technical Director Aron Winter. "I compliment my boys because the result was good."

Mikael Yourassowsky picked up his first yellow card in the 36th minute and was sent off after his second caution just a minute later, forcing Toronto to play a man down for the remainder of the match. Both teams exchanged chances to close the second half but neither could find a winner.

Toronto will kick-off the 2011 season on Saturday in Vancouver against the Whitecaps. Fans can watch live on TSN starting at 6:30 P.M. EST.
