The Montreal Impact acquired a conditional pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft on Wednesday from Real Salt Lake for forward Justin Braun. As per Major League Soccer and Impact policy, details of the deal were not disclosed.

“We appreciate Justin’s efforts on and off the field with our club and wish him luck with RSL,” said Impact head coach Jesse Marsch.

“We want to thank Justin for the services he rendered here with Montreal,” said Impact sporting director Nick De Santis. “He always managed and handled himself in the best professional way and was very committed towards the team. We wish him the best with Real Salt Lake.”

The forward returns to his native Salt Lake City after registering one assist in 15 games (494 minutes of play), including five starts, with the Impact in 2012. He also played two MLS Reserve League games.

Braun was originally acquired by the Impact in a trade with Chivas USA on November 23, 2011.

Upcoming match

The Impact will play its next game on the road on Saturday, July 14, versus the Philadelphia Union at 7pm (ET). The club will then return home on Wednesday, July 18, to host the New England Revolution at Stade Saputo, at 8pm.
