It’s been a long time since these two teams have clashed but come Sunday, the Tampa Bay Rowdies and FC Edmonton will renew acquaintances at Clarke Stadium (K.O. @ 2 p.m.).

Back on April 14, the Eddies travelled to St. Pete and came away with a 1-0 loss. FCE had a number of injured players missing that match and despite Takuya Yamada’s 20th minute strike; the Eddies pressed for much of the game and were unlucky not to come away with at least a point.

The last time out, FC Edmonton earned a hard-fought point in Puerto Rico and now the team is hoping to have a lot of success on the home field with eight of the remaining 13 games being played at Clarke.

“If we’re going to make a run at the playoffs we have to earn our points at home,” said captain Chris Kooy. “Our fans have been supporting us so well all season; we owe it to them and ourselves to make a charge for the post season.”

The Rowdies played on Thursday night in Minnesota and lost to the Stars 2-1. The quick turnaround could be an advantage for the Eddies who have brought in midfielder Bryan Arguez on loan from the Montreal Impact. The 6’2”, 185 lbs central midfielder will be available for Sunday but hasn’t played in a few months.
