Broadway’s Faith Prince & More in Leonard Bernstein’s Wonderful Town: Semi-Staged Concert From LA Opera

West Side Story, On the Town, Candide — Leonard Bernstein’s list of classic music goes on and on. Now, to celebrate the composer’s upcoming 100th birthday, LA Opera presents a star-studded, semi-staged concert performance of Wonderful Town, his jazzy love letter to the Big Apple. Tony winners Faith Prince (Guys and Dolls) and Nikki M. Jones (The Book of Mormon) lead a cast that also includes Broadway stars Marc Kudisch (9 to 5) and Roger Bart (Young Frankenstein). This musical — winner of five Tonys, including for Best Musical — follows two sisters as they move from Ohio to bohemian Greenwich Village to pursue their dreams. The two girls couldn’t be less alike, but with the help of a supporting cast of colorful characters and some characteristically snappy Bernstein songs to help them through their misadventures, they’ll make it in the big city.
