Get ready to boogie back into the ’70s as a legendary lineup of funk bands take over the Long Beach Arena for The Funk Show. Originally known as the New York City Players, funk-infused R&B group Cameo formed in the early 1970s and instantly earned the respect of such colleagues as Rick James, Isaac Hayes, Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind & Fire. They enjoyed their most prolific success in the 1980s, when “Word Up!” and “Candy” took over the airwaves. They are joined on stage by Con Funk Shun, who are best known for a slew of hit singles like like “Shake and Dance With Me,” “Chase Me” and “Got to Be Enough.” The concert also features high-energy performances from The SOS Band, The Gap Experience, The Bar Kay’s and much more.
