Organic Groove is an open-mic format music show hosted by Dylan Hennessy every Thursday at Cannabis Culture. Amidst local media controversy lies an open stage that boasts great sound, a diverse audience and a high quality live video stream to a wide audience. With the opening of a new lounge that offers many features not available at other lounges, along with the sounds of host Dylan Hennessy and musicians from all reaches of the Toronto’s music and cannabis communities, Organic Groove is a show that you can’t find anywhere else.
Cannabis Culture is located on Church just south of Wellesley in the heart of The Village. Cannabis Culture is a chain of retail cannabis shops, offering a wide variety of strains and products. The lounge, located in the back of the shop, has a great atmosphere for partaking with plenty of couches, snacks, and big TVs.
Dylan Hennessy has been performing for 7 years and has been hosting for 3. He is truly a variety act, using an acoustic guitar, his voice and a looping station to blur the lines between genres. From rock, folk, blues, rap, soul, even dubstep and drum n’ bass that come out as witty covers and unique originals. This has taken Dylan to Toronto’s most sought after stages and festivals like NXNE and Indie Week, as well as to Manchester to play Indie Week Europe 2016. “I like to try and do something that will take listeners through an experience and show them something new, so I think the space this show takes place in is perfect for what I offer.”
