Three Year Swim Club: Based on the True Story of a Hawaiian Hero

David Henry Hwang Theater (Los Angeles, CA)

Set on the island of Maui in the 1930s, Lee Tonouchi’s inspiring play tells the true-life story of Hawaiian hero Soichi Sakamoto, who set out on a mission to turn the children of sugar-cane workers into an Olympic swim team with the 1940 games as their goal.
