The Canadian Federation of Musicians (CFM) proudly salutes the 30th Anniversary of the country’s biggest music business event. A premiere gathering of the music industry’s most influential minds, Canadian Music Week is packed with informational sessions, engaging keynotes, and offers an opportunity to exchange, debate and explore how we as an industry do business.

From March 21st through 25th, CFM will showcase indie talent with acoustic performances by 3 emerging acts. Vocalist-songwriter, CHOLE CHARLES who draws from many genres and whose indie art folk talents have drawn comparisons to Cat Power and Bjork will perform at the CFM Conference Booth on Thursday, March 22nd. Toronto-based rock band The Balconies featuring vocalist-guitarist Jacquie Neville, her brother Stephen on bass and drummer Liam Jaeger offer an afternoon performance on Friday, March 23rd, 2012. Young Empires’ self-described genre of “world beat haute rock” has been earning them rave reviews for their debut EP, Wake All My Youth. The trio will stop by for an afternoon performance Saturday, March 24, 2012, prior to their appearance at the 2012 SIRIUS/XM INDIE AWARDS. “Canadian Music Week has always been a springboard for exploring the rapidly evolving music industry,” says Alan Willaert, AFM Vice President from Canada. “The multi-tiered event provides networking opportunities, showcases, and is a breeding ground for the innovative ideas that strengthen our industry as a whole”.
