LeftWords is a free public event that celebrates and promotes the work of Canadian and international writers and thinkers whose works appear in books and magazines by Canadian independent publishers. Canadian and international authors will be on hand for readings, panels, and discussions. Confirmed speakers include Michele Landsberg (keynote speaker), Frances Fox Piven, Keith Stewart, Deborah Barndt, Alan Filewod, Leo Panitch, Greg Albo, Larry Savage, Stephanie Ross, Sean Carleton, Emily Pohl-Weary and more. LeftWords was founded in 1999 and ran as a popular book event until 2004. We are excited to re-launch in partnership with the Mayworks Festival of Working People and the Arts.
