SMC Opera Theatre presents Mozart’s popular opera Così fan tutte, starring young up-and-comer Gregorio Gonzalez, whose praises have been sung by no less than Placido Domingo. The opera, composed by Mozart at the height of his fame, tells the tale of two military officers who decide to test their sweethearts’ faithfulness by disguising themselves and attempting to seduce one another’s lady loves. Though the ladies fail the test — "women are like that," according to the title — they are lovable for their failings, and their jilted lovers may yet find a place in their hearts for their poor disgraced brides-to-be. Shana Blake Hill, an accomplished and acclaimed performer on stage, now makes her directorial debut at SMC Opera Theater. Learn more…
