"The Mormon Boy Trilogy"

Before The Book of Mormon on Broadway, writer-performer Steven Fales’ created his own hit solo shows off Broadway, dissecting his Utah church upbringing and its wild ride of an aftermath. Now for the first time, he’ll perform the first two comedic and powerful chapters of his tale — Confessions of a Mormon Boy and Missionary Position — in repertory, together with the world premiere of the dramatic sequel, Prodigal Dad. His provocative and award-winning first play, Confessions of a Mormon Boy, takes audiences through his excommunication from the Mormon church, his marriage, his having children, his divorce, his drug abuse, his life as a high-priced gay prostitute in New York and, then, his subsequent struggles to reclaim himself and his kids. The laugh-filled prequel, Missionary Position, follows his many adventures as a pilgrim to Portugal, offering a glimpse behind many of the church’s secrets, along with some full-frontal nudity. Finally, the all-new Prodigal Dad: A Manic Memoir-Meditation tells the dramatic story of Fales’ battles with his own demons while fighting for his rights as a father in Utah. Learn more…
