ELATE presents the heartwarming comedy West Side Waltz at the Lincoln Stegman Theater. Margaret Mary Elderdice is an elderly, widowed pianist living in a dreary Upper West Side apartment. Normally one to keep everyone at a distance, she nevertheless strikes up a music-based friendship with the young violinist Cara, who lives in the building. Then there’s the young female companion who moves in to help when Margaret’s arthritis becomes too debilitating. And the good-natured building super, who has only a tentative grasp of the English language. Suddenly Margaret’s life is full of more colorful characters and situations than she ever imagined posible. Written by Ernest Thompson (On Golden Pond), the original Broadway production starred screen legend Katharine Hepburn, who was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress. Learn more…
