Pasadena Pro Musica presents a season finale for the whole family. This animal-inspired frolic features two playful works for piano and orchestra featuring resident virtuoso Alan Geier and guest piano soloist William Schmidt. New a cappella settings of Ogden Nash verses by Stephen Grimm will punctuate Saint-Saëns’ zoological romp, Carnival of the Animals. Also included on the program are Shostakovich’s frenetically cheerful Piano Concerto No. 2, as well as Eric Whitacre’s amusing Animal Crackers. You’ll find yourself roaring with delight.
