Troupe Vertigo’s Nighthawks takes all the traditional circus performers — aerialists, trapeze artists, acrobats, contortionists and more — and casts them into the twilight world of Raymond Chandler and Edward Hopper, where femme fatales cast their spell, detectives sip coffee in lonely diners, and neon lights give the rain-slick streets a bloody hue. Featuring members of Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Mechanics and set to a seductive soundtrack of jazz and modern classical music, Nighthawks combines all the best elements of theater, dance and the circus arts into an alluring whole. (Purchasers of VIP seating will also be able to attend a free Cirque 101 class, where members of Troupe Vertigo will introduce you to the circus arts in a fun, noncompetitive environment.)
