The James Bridges Theatre (Los Angeles, CA)
The L.A. Theatre Works’ season comes to a close with Tooth and Claw, penned by popular playwright Michael Hollinger (Opus) and inspired by real events. Cynthia Watros (Lost, House) stars as “the Savior of Giant Tortoises,” an idealistic biologist who arrives in the Galápagos Islands to take over the Charles Darwin Research Station. But she soon becomes embroiled in an evolving controversy over a black-market trade in sea cucumbers, also known as “nature’s Viagra.” Staged without sets or costumes before a live audience, the play will be recorded for later broadcast on national public and satellite radio.
