Performance artists John Fleck and Karen Finley

The Carpenter Performing Arts Center presents an evening with two legendary performance artists: John Fleck and Karen Finley. In John Fleck’s Mad Women, the award-winning artist and actor channels Judy Garland and his mother, Josephine, in an engaging performance that evokes the cultural mindset of the 1960s through dialogue and song. Catch 23: Broken Negative, a work-in-progress by acclaimed performance artist and author Karen Finley, explores the desperation of making meaning out of trauma creatively. The work revisits themes from earlier works by Finley including abuse, female rage, violence, homophobia and the outsider.
