Reggae/World Fest: Saw Red, Los Despiertos, Dub 8 Perform Live

Three great bands combine to put on one rocking reggae-world music show at Ambiente. Saw Red kicks off the show with their sublime Sublime tribute. That band was known for its singular mix of reggae, ska, punk and hip hop, which resulted in hits like “What I Got,” “Santeria” and “Wrong Way.” East L.A.’s Los Despiertos was chosen out of hundreds of the nation’s bands to become a part of the Vive Tu Musica With 5 reality show, where they made it to the finals with their mix of latin-reggae, ska and pop-rock. Popular local band Dub 8 hails from Pico Rivera, and has seen success with their original blend of reggae, sol and ska. They’re getting ready to release their first full-length CD and are known for their danceable bilingual tunes, complete with horn section.
