Some of Downtown L.A.’s most disenfranchised and overlooked residents, many of whom live at the Alexandria Hotel — and many of whom are homeless — come together for a show filled with meaningful monologues, poetry and song. More than a dozen local performers had help shaping their authentic artistic voices through a series of performance classes from the community-based Alexandria Workshop, and the result is Consciousness Under Construction, this all-new production staged by the award-winning Company of Angels and directed by Lui Sanchez.
