Build up your collections and witness pop art in progress at Designer Con 2012, now in its seventh year. Designer Con is an annual art and design convention featuring a unique assortment of urban, underground and pop art including visual art, collectible toys and designer apparel. With more than 150 vendors, the show has grown exponentially over the years to include art and custom shows, live demonstrations and more. This year brings back some of the most popular events from last year including the Sucklord’s Suckathon. Sucklord is a pop culture artist who specializes in toys and collectible figures and was a contestant on Bravo’s reality competition series, Work of Art. At the Suckathon, he’ll broadcast live and uncensored from the D-Con stage and will preside over a custom toy art show featuring Sucklord tribute figures from other artists, a Sucklord retrospective art show and crazy games at the Suckcarnival. The World’s Biggest “Blindbox Time” gives collectors the opportunity to open all of their collectible blindboxes and find out what’s inside. Bring yours from home or get them at the show — opening them with the group means opportunities for immediate trading or showing off your rare finds. The LEGO art show features amazing LEGO sculptures and a speedbuilding contest. There will also be live painting by featured guest artists.
