Greek Theatre (Los Angeles, CA)

See British rock legend Paul Weller live at the Greek Theatre, with opening act Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. Weller started his career as the frontman of The Jam, blending the emerging punk and new wave movements and topping the British charts with songs like “Town Called Malice” and “Going Underground.” After the break-up of The Jam in 1982, he went on to spend six years leading soulful pop group The Style Council before launching a wide-ranging and successful solo career. In March 2012, Weller released Sonik Kicks, which became his fourth UK No. 1 album as a solo artist, and his sixth overall. Opening act The Dap-Kings have earned wild critical praise for their funky R&B revival sound, rooted in the soul hits of the ’60s and ’70s. They’re led by Sharon Jones, who started singing in the 1970s but didn’t find fame until 2002, when she hooked up with her gifted backing band and started turning the heads of DJs and soul music fans across the nation.
