Sci-Fi Movie Madness at Valley Film Festival

All the elements of a 1950s sci-fi movie converge in this contemporary nod to the melodramas of yesteryear. Space creatures, juvenile delinquents and rock n’ roll bands are all the rage in The Ghastly Love of Johnny X, screening now at The Valley Film Festival. Directed by Burbank native Paul Bunnell, who’s been recognized for his achievements by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, The Ghastly Love of Johnny X was shot on a rare 35mm black and white film print. The cast includes horror movie veterans Will Keenan, Reggie Bannister and the late Kevin McCarthy, from The Invasion of the Body Snatchers, in his final role.
