The Los Angeles Galaxy host Canada’s Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the opening round of the 2012 MLS Western Conference Playoffs. The defending MLS Cup champions occupy the fourth seed in this year’s regular-season standings, and they must defeat the fifth-seeded Whitecaps to advance to the conference semifinals against San Jose. Galaxy stars Landon Donovan and David Beckham are back for another playoff run, and after the team’s hot streak in the second half of the season, it’s clear they have the talent to mount a serious playoff run. To get there, they’ll have to get past Brazilian striker Camilo, Jamaica’s Darren Mattocks and the Whitecaps in this game.
