Pepperdine University Center for the Arts welcomes Peter Yarrow to the Smothers Theatre stage. Yarrow rose to fame as a singer and songwriter for the iconic 1960s folk rock band Peter, Paul and Mary, who performed together for close to 40 years and were at the forefront of the Vietnam War protest movement and many other socially and politically progressive causes. They had No. 1 hits with their beloved children’s song, “Puff the Magic Dragon,” along with their covers of Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind” and John Denver’s “Leaving on a Jet Plane.” Their other hits include Yarrow’s “Day is Done,” “Light One Candle” and “The Great Mandala.” Yarrow continues to tour, perform and record as a beloved troubadour for youngsters and adults alike.
