Kentwood Players presents the Tony Award-winning comedy thriller The 39 Steps at Westchester Playhouse. A man accused of a murder he didn’t commit flees from the authorities and finds himself in a string of hair-raising adventures — as well as an unlikely romance — in Patrick Barlow’s ingenious comic adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s suspenseful thriller. This fast-paced and funny tongue-in-cheek whodunit has a cast of four talented actors playing more than 150 zany characters in a production that’s brimming with action and inventive stagecraft. Critically acclaimed, The 39 Steps was the recipient of two 2008 Tony and Drama Desk Awards as well as a Tony nod for Best Play. Fans of Hitchcock will catch many allusions to (and puns on the titles of) other Alfred Hitchcock films, including Rear Window, Psycho, Vertigo and North by Northwest. Ben Lupejkis directs.
