The play starts when eight adults take a tap dance class at a dingy community center, only to find the lessons they learn extend far beyond Shuffling Off to Buffalo. In mastering the steps for their recital, they discover a path out of their own inhibitions. This warm-hearted and generous play was a hit in the West End and on Broadway. Likewise, the film adaptation starring Liza Minnelli has become a cult classic. Now the Group Rep brings you the latest production of this sweet tale of amateurs finding purpose and unity in the power of dance.
