A Noise Within presents acclaimed playwright Sarah Ruhl’s inventive, visually breathtaking and modern retelling of the Orpheus myth. Ruhl uses a hauntingly unique poetic style to revisit the classic Greek myth through the eyes of Orpheus’ new wife, Eurydice. In the original Greek myth, Orpheus must rescue Eurydice from the underworld, where she has reunited with her father, on their wedding day. Eurydice must ultimately choose between a world which includes her father or a world which includes her husband. Ruhl’s version — both funny and heartbreaking — takes the myth in intriguing new directions and puts a modern-day twist on an ancient tale.
