Pasadena Pro Musica presents an evening of works by Franz Schubert as part of Pasadena’s Second Annual Schubertiade. This festival honors the Viennese master of melody, who, even though he didn’t even live to see his 32nd birthday, was quite a prolific composer. Not given the appreciation he was due during his lifetime, today Schubert is seen as one of the leading composers of the early Romantic era in music. You’ll hear Quartettsatz in C minor, D.703, Fantasie in F minor for piano duet, D.940 and String Quintet in C major, Op. posth. 163, D.956.
