Fremont Centre Theatre’s production of Coming to America — Transformations turns the spotlight on nine extraordinary women from Armenia, El Salvador, Iran, India, Afghanistan, Russia, Serbia, Cambodia, and Iraq, as they reinvent themselves on American soil. Refugees and immigrants, they are drawn to America by war, genocide and repressive societies to carve out new lives. You’ll see what the so-called “promised land” has in store for them, and whether those promises are fulfilled. Writer and performer Stephanie Satie tells their heartfelt stories in this solo show that features narrative, music and dance sequences.
