The StepCrew is a collection of stellar Celtic dancers, musicians and vocalists who took several different types of folk artistry and put them all together to make a foot-stomping modern mix. Led by soloist Cara Butler, who was The Chieftains’ top Irish dancer for 20 years, this acclaimed ensemble specializes in Ottawa Valley stepdancing, a Canadian variation on the traditional Irish high-stepping — which adds tap shoes to really bring home that rhythmic beat. Plus, the troupe boasts three world-class fiddlers backed by an top-flight five-piece band with vocals, many of them veterans of great groups like Bowfire, Cherish The Ladies and Seven Nations.
