American Cinematheque presents a double-feature screening of two films featuring film and theater actress Marthe Keller. First is 1976’s nail-biting political thriller Marathon Man, which stars Keller in her Golden Globe-nominated performance as Elsa Opel opposite Dustin Hoffman and Laurence Olivier, in one of the legendary actor’s most wildly entertaining performances. Next is 2012’s Au Galop (in French with English subtitles), writer-director Louis-Do de Lencquesaing’s feature film debut in which he stars as Paul Bastherlain, a writer living with his teenage daughter. The film costars Marthe Keller as Paul’s suddenly widowed mother, who learns firsthand that love evolves as we move through life. There will be a discussion with Keller between films.
