Church of the Blessed Sacrament (Hollywood, CA)
The women of Vox Femina will sing in 10 different languages, share the stage with some special guests and perform a new piece for Half the Sky: Voices of Women Worldwide. Inspired by the book of the same name, this concert celebrates the courage and compassion of women around the globe. The program includes a newly commissioned work by Haitian-American composer Sydney Guillaume and an appearance by the children of Creative Planet School of the Arts, whose graceful dance movements provide counterpoint to “Beneath the African Sky,” a choral piece written by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory.
