When Shannon married in October of 2005, she had no idea that her happy life as a newlywed was about to come crashing down around her. One month after her wedding, a police officer arrived at Shannon’s door to tell her that her husband had been arrested and charged in the brutal assault and kidnapping of two women. Shannon has had to deal with the aftermath of these crimes and will now share her personal journey at a free public lecture at Ryerson University on Wed., March 27. Shannon Moroney is a Canadian teacher, author and restorative justice advocate. A volunteer with Leave Out ViolencE (LOVE), she is also a contributor to The Forgiveness Project. Her memoir, Through the Glass, became an instant bestseller when it was released across Canada in October 2011. It is now published internationally.
