He’s one of the most respected rock drummers to come out the 1960s and for years fans have flocked to see his drum solos, which have incorporated instruments like gongs and tambourines as well as the ability to wrangle his way out of his shirt while playing complex patterns. Palmer’s showy style and skillful technique made him one of the first to be inducted in Modern Drummer Magazine‘s Hall of Fame and landed him in the top ten of Rolling Stone‘s “100 Greatest Drummers of All Time.”
