MAY BE ME DIALOGUES: FEATURING DR. MARK V. CAMPBELL How do we prevent violence? We begin with dialogues; we engage in conversations that respect our diversity; and we risk sharing ideas. May Be Me Dialogues is a speaker series that connects you with great ideas and efforts to prevent violence. It features dynamic presenters who work to prevent violence through the arts, education, technology, grassroots and systemic advocacy and personal investment and sacrifices. American Sign Language (ASL) can be provided upon request (please contact us by April 3, 2013). Light refreshments will be provided. Don’t forget to wear purple to show your support for violence prevention! Our first speaker is Dr. Mark V. Campbell, Executive Director of Nia Centre for the Arts. In his discussion, “Art for Our Sake”, Dr. Campbell will talk about why we need art for human development and developing resilience to violence. He will focus on communities where art has been vital to their survival. Door prize: free ticket to the May Be Me Celebration Event (May 31, 2013).
