In the diverse and eclectic music scene of Toronto, known for its tours, big acts and even bigger stage presence, there lies a world of performers playing Toronto\’s best and brightest stages to be discovered and appreciated. This community of songwriters and artists all have one thing in common: they love what they do, and they love what they can do together. In the first of many to come, the \”Acoustic & Interactive\” series will showcase the abilities of the talented musicians dwelling inside and outside of Canada\’s biggest music market. \”I wanted to find a way to bring musicians together for a joint show, equal on all sides. No one is a \’supporting act\’, and everyone gets a chance to shine both solo, and together.\” Founder of the series, Jessica Mitchell of the Jessica Mitchell Band in Toronto says. \”I\’ve noticed a shift in the harmony of genres lately, and I felt as though collaboration through live performance is the most honest and creative approach.\” The collaboration aspect referred to, is the surprise of the artists performing with each other, for the crowd. The concept of working together to make it the best experience, with special guests along the way. The opening of the series will take place at one of the city\’s best known venues for sound, stage, and atmosphere: The Drake Underground. Located in the heart of Queen West, it has been a home for many Toronto festivals, big names, CD Release shows, and a long string of successful and brilliant live performances by musicians and bands from across the globe. Kicking it off April 13th, will be the sensational singer-songwriter Gavin Slate (known for his beautiful lyrics and voice, and his iTunes driven corporate prank with Starbucks in 2012), seasoned songwriter and industry veteran Todd Clark (formerly of the very successful Indie Rock venture Pilot Speed), Trish Robb (roots rock sweetheart from Bowmanville, Ontario), and Jessica Mitchell herself performing with her guitar player Jimmy Reid of the Matthew Good Band. Tickets will be available at the door for $10. Doors open at 7:00 pm, with the show starting by 7:30 pm.
