Harry Gibson’s adaptation of the famed novel by Irvine Welsh — and the even more famous movie by Danny Boyle — carries its collection of Scottish heroin addicts to the stage with raw intensity intact. A revival of the acclaimed 2002 production helmed once again by Roger Mathey, the British black comedy follows the degenerate adventures of junkie Mark Renton and his circle of friends through the Edinburgh underworld. Mathey received both the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award and the LA Weekly Theater Award for his direction.
