In the Heights made a splash on Broadway, scoring the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical and winning over audiences with its fresh-faced charm and vibrant music. Now, the Performing Arts Magnet at Hollywood High School presents the uplifting story about one of Manhattan’s most vibrant communities on the brink of change. With a talented cast, incredible hip-hop dancing and a contemporary Latin-flavored score, In the Heights is an exhilarating journey into the lives of the residents of the Dominican-American neighborhood of Washington Heights in New York City. It’s a place where the coffee is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythms of three generations of music. Hollywood High is known for its top-notch productions. The students even created their sets using the original Broadway designs by Anna Louizos.
