The Candlelight Vigil (CLV) is an annual event commemorating the tragic annihilation of 1.5 million Armenians in 1915 during the first world war. On this day, members both within and outside of the Toronto-Armenian community are encouraged to peacefully join together in remembering the acts carried out deliberately and systematically by the Ottoman Empire. Highlights of the gathering include poem recitations, musical performances and readings of personal genocide accounts. Along with remembrance, the Vigil recognizes and promotes justice.
