Location: High Park
ATTENTION: The weather is pretty awful out there. Very gusty, chilly and possibility of rain this afternoon. As much as we love the idea of having this ride at the same time as other women globally we think the true purpose is for us to have fun which is unlikely today. With that in mind we are rescheduling this ride to next Saturday May 18th at 2pm. We know we’ll lose some of you to long weekend plans but hopefully a few can join us without mother’s day conflicts. See you all next weekend in, hopefully, better conditions. A leisurely ride through our beautiful city celebrating all those lady-identified who like biking. There will probably be snacks had afterward. Most likely some wine, if that’s your thing. THE WEATHER Looks like it’s gonna be cloudy. But that ain’t stoppin us. THE MEETING PLACE The main entrance of High Park at High Park Ave. and Bloor St West at 3pm. It will be busy, but we shall take over. Just look for the gaggle of ladies with bikes. THE ROUTE We’re gonna do a loop of High Park. Then we’re gonna move north and do a loop on the Humber River. Map and text directions to come. It is about 22km and will take an hour to an hour and a half. If you want to take off at any point in the ride, please feel free. No pressure! ABOUT CYCLOFEMME CycloFemme is a socially-driven grass-roots celebration of women on bikes. We are of a growing community, for a growing community, and 100% volunteer-based. Our annual Mothers Day ride unites riders, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or bicycle preference to share in the joy of cycling. In our first year, 163 rides were registered in 14 countries with many others joining in to celebrate in their own special way. Ride with us this May 12, 2013 as we Honor the Past, Celebrate the Present, Empower the Future of Women in Cycling. http://cyclofemme.com/about/ NOTES – Please take care of your bike (putting air in your tires, general tuning up) before the ride. No one wants any issues on a fine Sunday afternoon! – Everyone is welcome to attend the ride.
