Newfoundland folk-rock stars, Sherman Downey & the Ambiguous Case are heading out on tour this month with scheduled performances throughout Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. The group kicks off this run of shows in Halifax at The Company House on June 20. The band garnered major national attention this spring when they won the 2013 CBC Searchlight Contest with their song, “Thick as Thieves”. Hundreds of bands from across the country submitted songs to the national CBC challenge. The country’s best new musical act performed at the CBC Music Festival in Toronto, received $20,000 in Yamaha Canada music equipment and will be featured in an upcoming CBC Music video session.
